On the Job: Marymount University
I headed back down to Arlington, Virginia this spring to spend a couple more days on campus at Marymount University. I’ve done a lot of half or single day shoots like these, but the two day shoots often end up being the sweet spot for this kind of campus work.
Having two days to work meant we could revisit the spots where the light wasn’t quite doing what we hoped the day before, to try a different angle, and of course catch some of the things we inevitably missed on the first day. It also gave us the breathing room to take our time a bit, and gather a more diverse set of images that help tell a much bigger story about what it’s actually like to be there.
That second day makes a real difference to me. Instead of just checking the boxes, we have time to pay attention, follow the light, and let the campus show us a little more of its true self. The result is a gallery with a lot of variety—and, more importantly, a library of images Marymount can pull from across its marketing for years to come.
