On the Job: Morningside house Senior Living
I got to meet the wonderful folks at Morningside House Senior Living in Towamencin for this job - definitely a hidden gem in Montgomery County. Experiencing these senior living communities is my new favorite assignment. Seeing the real relationships within the community dismisses many of the negative connotations that retirement living can have.
When families start looking at senior living, they’re not just comparing floor plans & pricing - they’re trying to picture their themselves, or their beloved mom or dad there. Will they be happy? Will they have friends? Will they feel at home?
A stock photo of a smiling model can’t answer that. A real resident laughing with a staff member or neighbor who obviously has a connection with them can.
On a shoot like this, I’m watching for the small stuff that tells a big story:
The connections. A shared laugh, a hand on a shoulder, a conversation that’s clearly been going on for a while.
The everyday. Activities, meals, and the moments that show what daily life actually looks like.
The spaces. Bright, welcoming rooms shown the way residents use them, not empty and staged.
These images can go to work everywhere: their website, brochures, social media, and tour follow-up materials. When a family finally walks through the door, it already feels familiar because they’ve seen the real people and the real community
