OTJ: MNYK Magazine
Back in the winter, I got the opportunity to run around Manayunk and capture small businesses for an article they wrote, “Power Couples of Manayunk,” how fun is that?!
I loved hearing the stories behind the businesses, and capturing their life’s work.
Each couple had a unique love story, and equally interesting paths that lead them to becoming small business owners. I love learning about how people are turning their passions into careers.
We covered multiple businesses in a single day, so it was a lot of moving between locations, adjusting on the fly, and making the most of each space we walked into. Every shop had its own look and feel, different lighting, different layouts, different energy, which kept things exciting but also meant I had to think on my feet to make sure each couple's photos felt true to their space
I loved getting to work alongside the team putting the article together. Having that creative direction to play off was awesome. I wasn’t just tasked with taking photos, I was trying to tell a bigger story about these couples and what they've built in Manayunk.
